It is multipurpose project to provide Irrigation, hydro electric power and flood relief. It is 128 m earth and rockfill dam situated at Kalagarh in distt. Bijnor. Catchment area is 3,314 Square Kms. Gross storage is 2442 x 106 cubic meter and effective storage is 2195 x 106 cubic meter. Power house with an installed capacity of 198 MW has been constructed to utilize 98 m. head. Maximum discharge used for power generation is 226 cumecs. Work on the project commenced in 1962 and completed in 1975.
